THE FOUNDER’S LIFE STORY IN PERSPECTIVE
As a twelve year old girl, I had a calling by God into children’s ministry. I later grew to become a captain of Boys and Girls Brigade and also the leader of Evangelism of Anglican Youth Fellowship (AYF). All along, my mother recognized my passion for nurturing and caring for children, and she knew it was a gift fro God, and therefore encouraged me to go into teaching profession. I applied for a teaching job, and was subsequently posted to Eke Achina pry school, Aguata L.G.A. Anambra State. After I had taught for 2 years, my elder brother Engr. R. Anaje and my mother persuaded and encouraged me to go back to school in furtherance of my education. But it was a bad day for the school when I tendered my resignation letter. Both the staff and pupils wept profusely when they got to know that I wanted to leave the schools. However, the pupils organized a send off for me and presented me many gifts items from their parents including a two-in-one cooking stove. Years later, I got married to the Nnaemeka’s family and had four children after 5 years in marriage. I set up a Shoe business outfit at 32, Balogun Plaza and another one at 7, Gbajumo Plaza. I dealt in varieties of shoes. The business actually grew in leaps and bounds, but I was not fulfilled within me. I was not doing what God wanted me to do. One night, I saw myself in a dream carrying children in my arms, teaching them to say and write ABC…. And 123…. Another night, I saw myself in a dream singing and dancing with children. This time, I decided to visit one of our Evangelists at St. Barth’s Anglican Church, Aguda, Lagos. For guidance and counseling. From there, I was counseled and encouraged to pray and fast for God’s guidance. After some days of praying and fasting , I had another dream where I saw myself in the midst of teachers in a school’s lecture theatre listening to a lecturer. This dream prompted me to go back to my counselor and narrated the dream to him. Through the counseling session, I realized that God had called me into Education industry and Children’s ministry. Having understood that God wanted me to go into school business and children’s ministry. I narrated my dreams and experiences to my husband and thereby told him that I wanted to establish a Daycare/Pry School. He was puzzled because he knew my shoe business was going on well. However, he agreed with me and encouraged me to go to College of Education. Thereafter, he encouraged and supported me to start John Kennedy Int’l School. We started with 22 pupils, 7 teaching staff and 4 non- teaching staff. Also, we set up a management board with my husband as the chairman, Mrs. C. Maduabuchi (former director of Education, Lagos State), Mrs. Oby IIegbunem (Educationist), Engr. (Pastor) Ekene R. Anaje and Mr. Olagbuji Emmanuel Olu (Assistant Director of Education, Lagos State) as members. To God be the glory, John Kennedy Int’l School gave birth to a Secondary arm in 1012. And by he grace of God the first set of students sat for SSSCE in 2016 and had excellent results. It is part of the vision of the school to run a tertiary institution in the nearest future. In 2012, lady Pat as popularly called by her colleagues founded and registered Pat and Friends Educational Foundation (A Non-Governmental Organization) to give scholarship to the best performing pupils in the entrance examination to John Kennedy Int’l College, and also to help children to overcome various challenges confronting them as they grow and develop in life.
I seize this opportunity to say thank you to my husband and my children for being there for me always. I also appreciate all the helpers of my dream. God bless you all.
